In February 1973 Pétain's coffin was stolen from the Île d'Yeu cemetery by extremists who demanded that President Georges Pompidou consent to his interment in the Douaumont cemetery among the war dead. Authorities retrieved the coffin a few days later and Pétain was ceremoniously reburied with a Presidential wreath on his coffin, but on the Île d'Yeu as before.

6-year-old youngest confirmed mother in medical history Lina Medina, originally Lina Marcela Medina de Jurado gives birth to a son in Lima, Lima Metropolitana, Peru. Medina's son was named Gerardo after her doctor. He grew up healthy but died in 1979 at the age of 40 of a disease of the bone marrow.
