Arriving at his home Weidmann found two officers waiting for him. Inviting them in he then turned and fired three times at them with a pistol. Although they were unarmed, the wounded Sûreté men managed to wrestle Weidmann down, knocking him unconscious with a hammer that happened to be nearby.

28-year-old mass murderer Ramón Salcido kills six members of his family and a coworker in Boyes Hot Springs, California, United States. The victims were his 24-year-old wife Ángela, his 4-year-old daughter Sofía, his 1-year-old daughter Teresa, his 47-year-old mother in law Marion Louise Richards, her 12-year-old daughter Ruth, her 8-year-old daughter Maria and 35-year-old winemaster at Grand Cru winery Tracey Toovey.
