Murderess Ruth Ellis is executed by hanging by Albert Pierrepoint at the age of 29 in Holloway Prison, London, Greater London, United Kingdom. Ellis was the last woman to be executed in the United Kingdom, after being convicted of the murder of her 25-year-old lover David Blakely on 10 April 1955.
