A group calling itself the 'Liberation Army for Holy Sites' took credit for the bombings.

142nd Pope Sergius IV born as Pietro Martino Buccaporci dies of unknown causes at the age of 42 in Vatican City, Rome, Lazio, Italy. There was some suspicion that Sergius IV was murdered as he died within a week of Crescentius, considered by many to have been his patron.
