The statue was rebuilt again and Mayor Richard J. Daley posted a 24‑hour police guard at the statue. This guard cost $67.440 per year. In 1972 it was moved to the lobby of the Central Police Headquarters and in 1976 to the enclosed courtyard of the Chicago police academy.

 Judge and President of Germany’s Superior Court of Justice Günter George Richard Ernst von Drenkmann is shot dead in his house by die Rote Armee Fraktion / Bewegung 2 Juni as represaille for the death of Holger Meins at the age of 64 in Bayernallee 10-11, Westend, Berlin, Berlin, Germany. The attack on von Drenkmann had actually been part of planned kidnapping for ransom that went wrong. |
