Murderer Leonard Melvin Shockley is executed by the gas chamber at the age of 17 in Maryland State Penitentiary, East Madison Street, Baltimore, Maryland, United States. Shockley was the last instance of a juvenile being executed in America. His 23-year-old brother Harold Edward received life in prison.
