Davidson gave his usual speech before entering the cage in which two lions, Freddie and Toto, were sitting quietly. Freddie became agitated and knocked Davidson over before seizing him by the neck and running with him around the cage. 16-year-old tamer Irene Somner struggled to pacify the snarling Freddie who eventually dropped the unconscious Davidson, enabling her to drag him to safety; he was badly gashed and had suffered a broken bone in his neck.

Murderer Jeffrey Dillingham is executed by lethal injection at the age of 27 in Huntsville Prison, 815 12th Street, Huntsville, Texas, United States. Dillingham's last meal request was for one cheeseburger with American, Cheddar and Mozzarella cheese, without mayonaise, mustard or onions; large French fries; bowl of macaroni and cheese; lasagna with two slices of garlic bread; 4 oz. of Nacho cheese; three large cinnamon rolls; five scrambled eggs and eight pints of chocolate milk.
