Old West scout and hired gunman Tom Thomas Horn is executed by hanging at the age of 43 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, United States. Horn was one of the few people to have been hanged by a water-powered gallows known as the 'Julian Gallows', designed by Cheyenne architect James P. Julian. On the scaffold Horn shouted: “Ain’t losing your nerve are you, Joe?”.
